DECKS – creative designs to enhance your life.

We design and build beautiful, custom decks for your family's enjoyment using long-lasting materials. Increase the value of your home with outdoor living.

Think about what you will use the deck for.

If you're not a big party person how about designing an intimate conversation area with a fire pit or a specialized grilling zone with stools for seated guests to snack while you cook?

Include a space for container gardening or sizable couches for lounging.  Think of your deck as being able to have specific rooms for specific activities, like cooking, dining, mingling, and dancing.

A hot tip is to change the direction of the decking a good technique to separate areas.

Decks that are less than 30 inches above grade do not require railings. Remember to include ventilation to prevent mold and mildew growth underneath.

A low-maintenance material for deck building is composite wood, which mixes wood fibers and recycled plastic. A slightly more expensive alternative to wood but composite is durable and resistant to warping, insects, and weather. Wood surfaces need sanding, sealing and pressure-washing once a year.

The name-brand Trex decking is a composite material, made from 95% recycled materials - reclaimed wood, sawdust, and recycled plastic. Trex were the first company to provide composite in the decking industry. Like other composite options, Trex decking is slightly more expensive than traditional wood. But it lasts and comes with a 25-year warranty.

You could turn the underside of a raised deck into an outdoor living room. The top deck space is perfect for sunshine and summer, while the under-deck can keep the party going if it starts raining. If under-decking sounds like a calming retreat, be sure to include an effective deck drainage system when building. We love the Trex Rainscape system -  https://trexrainescape.com/

GEORGIA IN HOME SERVICES - OUR DECK DESIGN TIPS:

  • Consider your lifestyle habits - make the deck bigger than you think!
  • Plan the view so people will naturally turn in that direction - spend time at different times of the day in the deck space to see what sort of daylight you can expect.
  • Hide any visible AC units with shrubbery.
  • Deck Railing posts must be to code and placed no more than 8 feet apart for safety reasons.
  • Deck railing spindles must be placed closer together, with no more than a 4-inch gap between them.
